Rebuilding Macroeconomics - Banking Regulation and Environmental Sustainability

Rebuilding Macroeconomics

Professor Alexander presented on Banking Regulation and Environmental Sustainability at a workshop on "Financial Resilience" on 13 September 2018, organized through the Finance Research Hub, supported by the UCL Centre for Comparative Studies of Emerging Economies. At this workshop, economists, sociologists and legal scholars identified open questions which might be taken up in the Finance Hub research call. To address concerns regarding the resilience of the financial system, as well as major threats and issues, Professor Alexander's talk focused on the relevance of systemic environmental risks to banking sector stability and economic growth, but also environmental risks in Basel III. Further discussants: Alistair Milne (University of Loughborough) and Eliana Lauretta (University of Birmingham).
