Current Project (2021): "Who Gets Heard? Selecting Scientific Experts in Swiss Legislative Processes"
Project leaders: Dr. Silvia Maier (University of Zurich, Department of Economics) and Dr. Odile Ammann (University of Zurich, Faculty of Law)
Other project members: Darius Farman (Avenir suisse) and Servan Grüninger (Reatch)
Summary: This multi-disciplinary project aims to examine how key political institutions and actors factor scientific expertise into the Swiss federal legislative process. For this purpose, the project members will assess the transparency, representativity and equality of access of expert selection in the legislative process, as well as potential hurdles to hearing a balanced selection of experts. The project is generously funded by the Swiss Young Academy (Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences).
