Staatsrecht I (Group 2)

The lecture takes place in the Fall Semester 2025 on Tuesdays, 10:15 - 12:00 a.m., in room KOH-B-10, and on Fridays, 10:15 - 12:00 a.m., in room HAH-E-03.


The lecture will be conducted in person by Prof. Dr. Andreas Glaser. It will not be streamed and will not be made available as a podcast.

 

Lecture slides, the accompanying volume, and further materials will be available onOLAT.

 

The lecture is part of the module "Öffentliches Recht I". In the fall semester, the module "Öffentliches Recht I" includes the lectures Staatsrecht I and Grundrechte I, as well as tutoring in public law.

The lecture focuses on the following topics:

  • Foundations and basic concepts of constitutional law
  • Constitutionalism
  • Democratic rule-of-law state organization
  • Democratic rule-of-law processes (fundamental issues and legislation)

 

For preparation or review the following reading is recommended: Giovanni Biaggini/Thomas Gächter/Regina Kiener (Hrsg.), Staatsrecht, 3. Auflage, Zürich/St.Gallen 2021. 

In addition, you should bring the legal texts discussed in the lecture, for example: Giovanni Biaggini/Benjamin Schindler (Hrsg.), Textausgabe Öffentliches Recht, Zürich/St. Gallen (latest edition) oder Peter Hänni u.a. (Hrsg.), Texto-Gesetzesausgabe Öff. Recht I, Basel (latest edition).
