Orestes Suárez Antón is a PhD candidate in Political Science from the Complutense University of Madrid within the Government and Public Administration Programme of the Ortega y Gasset University Institute.
The aim of his PhD research is to compare the legal design and the practical experience of the Citizen´s Legislative Initiative among the states that have this mechanism in Latin America and the European Union.
As a lawyer specialized in European Union law, he works as a legal/policy adviser, nowadays in the European Parliament and before in the Spanish Government and in the Spanish Socialist Party (PSOE).
He also acts as an international election observer and humanitarian aid volunteer.
