Challenges of climate change in comparative law: Blended Intensive Program (BIP)
Blended Intensive Program (BIP) together with the Faculty of Law of the West University of Timișoara, through the Center for Comparative Law and Interdisciplinarity, in partnership with the Université de Strasbourg (France), the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (Spain) and the Université du Luxembourg (Luxembourg), under the aegis of the International Faculty of Comparative Law (Strasbourg). Between May 25 – 30 2026, the Summer School of Comparative Law with the theme "Les défis du changement climatique en droit comparé” (“Challenges of climate change in comparative law") will take place in Timișoara.
Schedule
The program will take place in two phases:
- Online preparatory session: 4 – 22 May 2026: the online meetings take place in the late afternoon (5.30 – 7 p.m.)
- On site session: 25 - 30 May 2026 (arrival on Sunday 24 May, departure on Saturday, 30 May
Prerequisites
Good command of the English and French language

Students interested in an international experience and in climate change law
Learning Outcome
The summer school in Timișoara will offer the participants, in dialogue with invited professors from the organizing law faculties, lectures, case studies and mock trials that will discuss current issues of environmental law, analyzed through the lens of comparative law methods.
Assessment
Oral presentation in English or French on a topic proposed by the course organizers (together with a student from one of the partner universities)

Fees
The costs for the trip to Timișoara will be covered via the SEMP-program. Free accommodation is provided on site.
