Master Theses
It is possible to write free master's theses on research topics of the Zurkinden chair. Please note that the number of available slots is limited, and each master's thesis carries a fixed value of 12 ECTS credits.
Application
If you are interested in pursuing a free master's thesis, please apply to the chair (lst.zurkinden@ius.uzh.ch) and submit the following:
Topic Proposal: The provisional title of your thesis, an abstract (half to a maximum of one page), including a description of your methodological approach, as well as a provisional table of contents and the bibliography of literature you have already researched on the topic.
Timeline: When do you plan to start the thesis, and by when do you aim to complete it? Please be aware of the following deadlines by which you must submit your thesis both physically (in paper form) and digitally:
- For credit in the spring semester, the thesis must be submittet by May 31st at the latest.
- For credit in the fall semester, the thesis must be submitted by November 30th at the latest.
Form: Additionally, please fill out the Master's thesis Agreement Form (PDF, 1 MB) with your personal details, the topic, and the submission deadline, and send it to the chair as well.
Evaluation
The master's theses are evaluated using this assessment rubric. (PDF, 137 KB)
The thesis must include a declaration of originality (PDF, 13 KB) at the end of the document.
