Military Service

Information on postponing military service can be found on the website of the Swiss Armed Forces.

The request for postponement of service is supported by theStudent Center of the Faculty of Law as mandatory if the military service is to be performed during the semester in which bachelor's or master's examinations are taken.

In order to obtain the required signature for the service deferral form, submit the completed service deferral form to the Student Center via the contact form (section "Deferral of military service"). Please enclose the marching orders. If you have not received a marching order, contact the Swiss Armed Forces Hotline (Tel. 0800 424 111) for confirmation of your deployment. Submit the confirmation together with the service deferral request. The form, signed by the faculty, will be returned to you via email.

The Military Academy at ETH Zurich is responsible for students from all universities in the Zurich area.
