Prof. Dr. iur. Ulrike Babusiaux is Professor of Roman Law, Private Law, and Comparative Law at the University of Zurich, where she has taught since 2009. Born in Salzkotten, Germany, she studied German and French law at Saarland University and earned her doctorate at LMU Munich in 2005, followed by her habilitation in 2009. She has since been invited as a visiting professor at leading universities such as Paris II (Panthéon-Assas), Vienna, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Her research focuses on Roman law and its reception, comparative private law, and the intersection of legal history and normative theory. Prof. Babusiaux has received several academic awards and serves on editorial and evaluation boards, reflecting her active engagement in advancing legal scholarship and education in Europe.
