Professor Haas will no longer accept any Master’s thesis for Spring Semester 2026 (FS26)!
Professor Haas supervises thesis in (international and European) civil procedure law, (international) insolvency law, (international) enforcement law, and (international) sports law.

Application
Since Professor Haas has only been teaching on a limited basis since Autumn Semester 2021 (HS21), he supervises only one (1) Master’s thesis per semester (12 ECTS). In order to be considered in the selection process, please observe the following application and selection procedure:
If you wish to write a Master’s thesis under the supervision of Professor Haas, you may apply using the application form below. Professor Haas considers one application per semester and bases his selection on the information and documents submitted:
- As precise and detailed a topic proposal as possible (to be adjusted if necessary in consultation with Professor Haas)
- Motivation for the Master’s thesis and the proposed topic
- Previous academic transcripts (BA and MA)
- Bachelor’s thesis or a comparable written paper
Please submit your application in good time:
The application deadline for a thesis in the Autumn Semester of a given year is
30 November of the previous year. All applicants will be notified of acceptance or rejection within 10 days.

30 April of the previous year. All applicants will be notified of acceptance or rejection within 10 days.
General information
If Professor Haas agrees to supervise your Master’s thesis, the framework conditions will be set out in a binding manner in the form “Master’s Thesis Agreement”. The original of this agreement remains with the chair.
Once you have familiarized yourself with your topic and have sent the outline (detailed table of contents with descriptions) and a bibliography to the chair by email, Professor Haas will invite you to a meeting to discuss the outline. No further meetings are planned.
