Prof. Maren Niehoff
Prof. Maren R. Niehoff is the Max Cooper Chair of Jewish Thought at the Hebrew University and a Member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the Academia Europaea.
She is the Principal Investigator of numerous research projects on ancient Judaism, Greco-Roman Culture and early Christianity. Currently, she leads the ERC funded project "ROMANA – The Roman Turn among Jews, Greek Pagans and Christians".
Her most recent publications include "Philo of Alexandria. An Intellectual Biography" (Yale 2018, translated into German, Hebrew, Italian and French); "Judaism and Hellenism" (Lucas Preis Rede, Tübingen 2024) and forthcoming "Philo of Alexandria. Every Good Man in Free. Introduction, Translation and Commentary" (Leiden).
Prof. Titti Mattsson
Prof. Titti Mattsson has been Professor of Public Law at Lund University, Sweden, since 2012. She has extensive experience in interdisciplinary and comparative research, as well as in teaching and supervising undergraduate and graduate students in law, social work, and medical ethics. Her publications include monographs, edited volumes, book chapters, and articles in both international and national journals.
Prof. Mattsson is Director of the Health Law Research Centre at Lund University and of the Law and Vulnerabilities Group. Her research-related activities include serving as Editor of the European Journal of Health Law, Board Member of the Swedish National Institute of Human Rights, National Expert for the Swedish Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Assessment of Social Services, and Vice Chair of the Ethical Board of Region Skåne.
In 2025, she was appointed by the Vice-Chancellor of Lund University as the new holder of the Torsten and Ragnar Söderberg Foundation Professorship in Memory of Samuel Pufendorf for the period 2025–2028. She is the second woman to hold this distinguished chair.
