About

The Journal of Animal Law, Ethics and One Health (LEOH) is a peer-reviewed, Diamond Open Access academic journal dedicated to the discussion of legal and ethical questions well as associated social, cultural, political and philosophical topics relating to the human-animal relationship. We publish scholarship that engages critically with the evolving field of Animal Law, highlights ethical frameworks for human–animal interaction, and contributes to the broader One Health approach and its implications for the legal and ethical realms.

The journal also welcomes contributions from the humanities and social sciences, provided they address ethical, legal, or political aspects of human–animal relations. Analyses of proposed or existing legislation relevant to the relationship between humans, animals, and the environment are equally encouraged, as are submissions from the field of Human–Animal Studies.

Furthermore, the Journal aims to provide a platform in which to explore pivotal case law, legislation and political decisions that relate to or have an impact on animals.

LEOH aims to foster thoughtful debate, promote academic visibility for Animal Law, and encourage research that bridges theory and practice.

High academic quality and the international character of the journal are ensured by the Editorial Board which consists of national and international specialists in the topic areas as well as interdisciplinary fields of research.
