Visiting Scholars

Content and duration of the stay

Visiting scholars undertake research at the Faculty of Law. The duration of their stay is 1 – 12 months.

Visiting Scholars must hold a PhD degree and have to organize a reference person at the Faculty of Law for their application. The reference person has to agree to act as an advisor for the visiting scholar’s research project. Prospective visiting scholars are responsible for contacting suitable faculty members to organize a reference person.

Application Procedure

Visiting scholars must submit the following PDF-documents via e-mail to the Vice Dean’s Office for International Relations:

  • Application form including details of the reference person at RWF
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Covering letter, incl. research project
  • Overview of publications

Selection procedure

The dossier will be reviewed by the Manager of the Vice Dean’s Office for International Relations and by the Vice Dean for International Relations. 

Visiting Scholars will receive an invitation letter from the Vice Dean for International Relations, which can be submitted when applying for a visa if necessary.

Visiting scholars will also receive a UZH Guest Card and an e-mail account at the beginning of their stay at the Faculty of Law.
