Non-subject-related coursework

During your studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zurich (RWF UZH), you have completed or are planning to complete coursework from other faculties or the School for Transdisciplinary Studies of UZH or coursework from other universities and would like to clarify which coursework can be recognized for your studies or have this coursework recognized.

According to § 3 para. 3 lit. c and § 6 lit. c of the Program regulation (StudO RWF), elective modules from other faculties may be transferred to the degree (Bachelor of Law UZH and Master of Law UZH) to the extent of a maximum of 6 ECTS credits.

If the coursework has already been used for a degree, it can no longer be recognized. Coursework that cannot be used cannot be recognized.

If the coursework was graded; this grade will be accepted.

Procedure

  • Non-subject-related coursework from UZH (incl. the modules from the School for Transdisciplinary Studies) will be included in the transcript of records by the relevant faculty or school. Therefore, no action is required for recognition.
  • Language certificates from the Language Center of UZH and ETH Zurich are sent to the Faculty of Law at the end of each semester automatically and shown on the transcript of records. No action is required for recognition.
